Power Out: Lectric Boil On
We got a chance to test out our rugged, portable, battery powered, induction cooking stove in sub zero temps here in MI, and its performance did not disappoint! We boiled water for our coffee in less than 90 seconds, before cooking some of the best jalapeno cheese brats in history!
We started cooking the brats in our skillet on the highest setting which proved to be too much, even though it was windy and below zero. After dialing down the temp though, they came out perfect, We've enjoyed cooking in just about every type of wind & weather imaginable at this point, and Lectric Boil is up for the task!
There were even a few hours when we lost power at our friend's cabin, and thought we'd need to use the Lectric Boil in its generator capacity. There's an old electric furnace up there, and we were able to hook it up to the Lectric Boil. When you plug something into the Lectric Boil, it automatically calculates how long your battery life will last based on the power being drawn from it. When we plugged the furnace into our Gen1 Lectric Boil, it turns out we could have run a full size electric furnace for over an hour, and had less than a full charge left! It turned out that the power came back on before we had to use the Lectric Boil to power the furnace, but it was still pretty cool to see it work in that capacity and had a blast using it outside, in what felt like the Arctic for hours on end.
